Dear HCM Supporters:

On this Ascension Day may we reflect on Jesus’ ascension to heaven as a symbol of His heavenly reign and His Lordship over all on earth.

I arrived in Nicaragua just fine. They are quite concerned here about the “H1N1 Flu”. As we got off the plane, they took the temperature of each of the passengers. Fortunately, mine registered in pretty low at 35C (about 95F) which gave me passage into Nicaragua. As usual I hit the road running. I had a meeting within ten minutes of arriving since I was met at the airport by two students who are coordinating my conference day in the local prison here in Managua. The conference is scheduled for Monday. But they tell me that foreigners have not been permitted to enter because of concerns about the “swine flu” being spread there from the “outside”. They have requested a formal exception to the prison authorities for me to be able to do a “follow up conference” on my course on the book of Nehemiah. I will also be meeting with new students (prisoners) who are interested in taking the course. They have 93 participants signed up who are interested in taking in the conference as “listeners” and/or as “regular students”. Please pray that the Lord will open the doors for me to be able to get in for the day-long activity.

During the rest of this week I will be meeting with two Study Centres, one here in Managua and another in León. I also have made appointments for visiting several new contacts.
