Dear friends in Christ,
HCM Financial Update: I received a note from my mission committee treasurer suggesting that I send out a ‘gentle reminder’ to supporting churches and individuals. He writes, “Our 2013 Year-to-date income is currently $25,000 below the budgeted income, and yet the spending is on budget creating an overall $24,778 shortage of income over expenses for this year.” If individuals are considering a ‘year-end’ donation please consider doing so during the next week.
If you've tried to send a message since the site redesign a week or two ago, those messages were never received. The issue has been resolved, so feel free to contact us now using the Contact Us tab above.
HCM Special Donation Request: The ministry of MINTS in El Salvador under the direction of José Ramírez has been growing rapidly with sixty students in five active Study Centres and two more being planted.
The Fall Missions Rally is almost here! It's at Kuyper College's chapel at 7pm next Thursday (October 31). Rev. Poelman, URC missionary to India, will speak. Come on out! And invite friends!
HCM Update: Rev. Pennings is leaving on a ministry trip from October 21 to November 3 to Panama, Chile and Costa Rica. He will be teaching three different courses during this trip: Canon of the Scriptures, Nehemiah and Philippians. There will be a lot of travel, especially in Chile. Please pray for safety and for effectiveness in the teaching of the conferences.
HCM Update – Rev. Pennings has returned from his ministry trip to Belize. He taught "Canon of the Scriptures" and "Hermeneutics" in two MINTS centres in Belize, one in north and one in the south. The MINTS Centre in the south was started on his last trip there, and they multiplied to start one in the north. The northern centre is in the process of multiplying once again to start yet another centre. Both existing Centres have 9 students in them at various levels of study from basic diploma to Masters' Level.

"Dear Ministry Partners:
If you look at the date on my newsletter, you will note that it is dated for August. That’s not an error even though we are now in September. I went on vacation a day after my latest ministry trip, so I was not able to get a newsletter out until now. I have a busy travel schedule in September and October, so I am providing the following Bulletin Update in addition to this newsletter for those churches that put the updates in the bulletin.
HCM Update: I would like to thank the HCM email distribution group for your prayers after my wife sent out the last email prayer request for my travels in the Miskitia. The rain let up a bit this morning, and the flight was able to come in to the village where I was staying. When we left it was windy and rainy again but the pilot chose to leave anyways. Thankfully all went well and I am back in the main region of Honduras again.
